Swindon Town V Forest Green Rovers - Three Storylines

We've Picked Out Three Things To Look Out For On Saturday

12 January 2018

Swindon Town finally return to action on Saturday when they host Forest Green Rovers at The Energy Check County Ground on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off).

We've picked out three key storylines to focus on...

IN THE BANK:

Town made their first signing of the January Transfer Window earlier today with the addition of Ollie Banks on loan from Oldham Athletic.

The 25-year-old is good on the ball and has a very good engine, which is what Town have been searching for in the middle of the park.

Banks is available to feature tomorrow but whether he is thrown straight in or starts on the bench remains to be seen.

However, one thing for sure is that the Town faithful will no doubt be interested to see their new man in action for the first time.

STARTING AS WE MEAN TO GO ON:

Plenty has been said about our home form this season and there is no doubt that it does need to improve.

However, after beating Notts County here in the last game of 2017, there is real hope now that a corner has been turned.

And tomorrow's game represents a perfect opportunity to open the New Year in style at SN1 and really start going about making The Energy Check County Ground a real fortress.

With the away form still as superb as it has been all season, an improvement in results at home will only help The Reds in their mission to secure an immediate return to the Sky Bet League One.

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM:

Tomorrow's fixture will be the third meeting between these two sides this season with Town and Forest Green having one win apiece.

The Reds won the first-ever league meeting between the two sides back in September 2017 thanks to efforts from Olly Lancashire and Matty Taylor, while a Christian Doidge strike dumped Swindon out of the Checkatrade Trophy in December.

Three points would be huge for both teams with Town looking to close in on the top three, while Forest Green are battling near the bottom of the table.

Mark Cooper's team could look rather different tomorrow too having drafted in six fresh faces already this month, which means Saturday's game is set up nicely to be a cracker!
