Phil Brown has revealed that Town are very close to further bolstering their squad ahead of the 2018/19 Sky Bet League Two campaign.
Jermaine McGlashan became the club's first signing of the summer on Monday after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal, with more set to follow soon.
"We're very close," Brown told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.
"We're way down the line on three or four players.
"We've put offers on the table with regards to these players and they are free transfers so there are no clubs involved.
"There is one or two where there are clubs involved and they are allowing us to talk to players.
"There are lots of complications where transfers are concerned and getting players through the door - we've got one in.
"You should never underestimate the work that goes on behind the scenes, it isn't a case of making someone an offer and they just accept it, you've got a lot of people to deal with like Chairmen, clubs, Chief Executives, managers and then you've got players with their agents.
"There are a lot of complexities and you have to deal with it in the football world.
"Supporters will want to know who the next one (signing) is but I can guarantee that there will be players coming into Swindon Town Football Club that will excite the supporters.
"And, hopefully, they are players who can get us to the next level."
