Henry Reflects On First Week Of Pre-Season

Keeper Loving Life Back On The Grind

Will Henry is glad to be back in the thick of it and is looking to impress throughout pre-season.

The young stopper has been hard at work over the past week with the rest of his team-mates and he's feeling in fine condition already.

"It has been good to be back kicking a ball again after the break," Henry told swindontownfc.co.uk.

"The two days at Solent University were good, we did all the testing and all the lads came back in good shape so it was a good start.

"To get the balls out early as well shows the level of fitness everyone has come back in and also to get things started straight away, especially with games coming thick and fast in pre-season.

"The only thing I'm focussing on is making sure I've come back in good shape, which I feel I have, and doing everything I can in training to take that chance and show the Gaffer what I can do.

"The Gaffer was here for the last ten games of last season so everyone knows what he is about and what his standards are.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed working under him so far and the first few days of pre-season have been good and I seem to get on with Neal McDonald well.

"They both work well together which is a boost for the players to see that."

And Henry is looking forward to getting stuck into a game on Wednesday with Cirencester Town first up for the Reds in pre-season.

"The best way to get your fitness for the season is through games and getting as many minutes as you can," he added.

"It is good to have a bunch of games in pre-season."
