Brown - Exeter Difficult Place To Go

Gaffer Previews Saturday's Game

23 March 2018

Swindon Town Boss Phil Brown is expecting a much tougher test against Exeter City this weekend.

The Reds head to Devon tomorrow (3pm Kick-Off) with a massive three points on the line for both teams in the race for promotion.

Exeter are currently three points above Town in the standings and Brown is well aware of the importance of the fixture.

"It will be a difficult game," he told the local media.

"It is a six-pointer for me. They are looking for exactly the same carrot at the end of it and that isn't just three points, it is being in the Play-Offs and getting a bit of success.

"They missed out last year, they were beaten at Wembley by Blackpool and that would have hurt them.

"They've been in this division for five years and I know the manager very well and he'll want to get out of this division.

"It will be a difficult place to go to.

"I went there last Tuesday and watched a 0-0 draw, it was a decent grinding performance by Yeovil and we need all of that.

"We need that mentality to grind a result out but we also need the quality with the ball that I witnessed at Cambridge.

"I need to see more of that and I'm seeing it in training - the pictures I'm seeing when we've got the ball are very exciting and we have to carry that into the game on Saturday.

"Hopefully it will bear fruit.

"It will be a difficult day because we know what we are coming up against, but hopefully it will be a successful day in terms of how we play."
