CENTRAL LEAGUE: Town Held To Draw By Cheltenham

Reds Battle For A Point

21 March 2018

Swindon Town's Development side produced a spirited display on Tuesday to secure a 0-0 draw with Cheltenham Town in the Central League.

The hosts had the better of the chances but Alan McLoughlin's outfit were able to dig in to claim a well deserved point.

Town were able to field a mixed side which featured scholars and first-teamers, including the likes of Kyle Knoyle, Kellan Gordon and Ryan McGivern.

It was Cheltenham who were quickest out of the traps, however, as Brian Graham and Elijah Adebayo both went close, before Scott Twine fired over at the other end.

Cheltenham continued to pepper the visiting goal with a flurry of attacks late on in the first-half with Manny Onariase sending a header inches over.

George Lloyd then rattled the post after the break and he went close again moments later, smashing an effort against the crossbar after being picked out by Jordan Cranston.

Adebayo then saw a header ruled out for a foul and Town were able to hold on for the remainder of the contest.
