Taylor Happy With Weekend's Work

Interim Manager Gives An Update On Last Couple Of Days

5 March 2018

Matty Taylor has been happy with the work put in by his players in training following a rare weekend off.

Town were left with no game on Saturday after the freezing temperatures that ravaged the country last week put paid to the Yeovil fixture at SN1.

However, there was still plenty of hard work to be done with the players put through their paces on both Friday and Saturday, with all attention now on the visit of Cheltenham to Wiltshire this weekend.

"We trained at a local indoor football centre on Friday because of the weather, we had some fun with that and the players really bought into it," Taylor told swindontownfc.co.uk.

"Then on Saturday we were at the ground and we did a gym session which was really well received.

"They committed fully to it, which was great, and then they had the rest of Saturday and Sunday with their families.

"We were back in today and straight at it. We had a really good session today, I got some ideas and some pictures across to the boys about how I feel and how we can best attack the Cheltenham game.

"The game being off on Saturday has given me time to get my ideas and my requirements of them across to them.

"We had a good session today, tomorrow will be a tough day and we've already started looking at the Cheltenham game.

"We are going to be really specific about how we want to approach and how we feel we can give the players the best opportunity to go and win the game in terms of information and key points.

"I'll just stress again that it is about us, it is about us approaching the game correctly, respecting the opposition and going out and playing to the best of our abilities and giving as much effort, commitment and desire as we can do.

"If the players do that then I as an Interim Manager can't ask for any more."
