James Dunne is excited about the prospect of pitting his wits against some quality opposition in pre-season.
It was announced today that Town will welcome West Bromwich Albion to SN1 on July 14th, a fixture Dunne already can't wait to get stuck into.
"It is always good when you get a chance to play against players who are at a higher level than you," he told swindontownfc.co.uk.
"It is going to be a tough game for us but it will be good to get the fitness up and we're looking forward to the game.
"I know a couple of players at West Brom so it will be good to see them as well.
"The fans will get to see some of their better players and I'm sure we would have signed some players by then as well.
"It will be a good game, it will be a tough game which you need in pre-season and we're looking forward to it."
Dunne is already itching to get back to what he does best and he's looking forward to working under Phil Brown again.
"I have enjoyed working under the Gaffer and you want to work under people like that with the CV he's got," he added.
"I was glad he got the job and I look forward to working with him next season - hopefully it will be a better year for us.
"Once you finish the season you are alright for a week but then you are bored and you miss all the banter and not kicking a ball about.
"We have stuff we need to do to keep ourselves in good condition so it isn't too bad, but I'm looking forward to getting back to it and getting the season started.
"We want to go one better and get the club back to where it should be."
