INJURY UPDATE: Latest Team News Ahead Of Saturday

Brown Provides An Injury Bulletin

3 May 2018

Swindon Town Boss Phil Brown has revealed who is fit and who isn't for our final Sky Bet League Two fixture of the 2017/18 campaign against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against the Champions at The Energy Check County Ground, Brown divulged that both Matt Preston and Dion Conroy have been training this week.

"Matty Preston has been training all week and he's pushing for a start," Brown said.

"I've got to be careful with him because he has been out a long time.

"Dion Conroy is exactly the same. He's trained with us this week but he's been non-contact, so it is a case of a little too late for probably both of them.

"If Matty Preston decides he wants to play some part in the game on Saturday then I will probably have a look at him with a view to next season.

"I've liked what I've seen in terms of Matty's attitude to the game and certainly the way he plays his football - it is something I've missed since I've been here.

"I've not had a strong, sturdy, centre-back that will put his head in and put his body on the line available to me and Matty is certainly one of them."

Brown also provided updates on Olly Lancashire, Chris Robertson and Luke Norris ahead of the weekend.

"Luke Norris is missing, Chris Robertson is back on the training ground and Olly Lancashire has gone to see a specialist today with a view to having an operation," he added.

"I'll await the outcome of that meeting today."
