Lancashire Itching To Go Again

Captain Looking Forward To 2018/19

24 May 2018

Olly Lancashire is already raring to go for next season as he aims to bounce back from the disappointment of missing out on the Play-Offs in 2017/18.

Town's Skipper is currently on his summer holidays but he already has one eye on next term as he looks to lead his side back to the Sky Bet League One.

"It is good the Gaffer is staying and he's told us what he wants from us during the off-season," he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

"The summer is always a good time because it is exciting to see who the club is going to bring in and, with the way the season ended, I'm already itching to get back.

"We've had a year together as a group of players now and if you look at Accrington Stanley, Luton and Wycombe, the top three teams that got promoted, they are all teams who built over two years.

"It is difficult to get out of this league, especially at the first attempt, but we will be learning from the mistakes we made and we want to push on.

"We need to defend as a whole team and there were some games last season where we were too easy to break down as a team and there wasn't much structure to our play.

"Since the Gaffer has come in you can see the work we've done on the training pitch and with a full pre-season under his belt we should be looking good next year.

"I'm already looking forward to next season."
