Professional Contracts Offered To Three Scholars

Pryce, Edwards & Romanski All Handed Deals

16 May 2018

Swindon Town are delighted to announce that we have offered professional contracts to three Academy graduates.

Second-year Scholars Sol Pryce, Jordan Edwards and Joe Romanski have all been handed their very first pro deals for the 2018/19 campaign.

Both Pryce and Edwards have put pen to paper on their contracts, with the club currently awaiting a reply from Romanski.

The trio are currently away on their summer break but will join up with Phil Brown's first-team squad for pre-season training on June 25th ahead of their first seasons as professional footballers.

Edwards made his professional debut during the 3-0 win against Accrington Stanley on the final day of the 2017/18 campaign, whilst Romanski made his Town bow a few weeks earlier.

Pryce enjoyed a fruitful season in-front of goal for the U18's before injury curtailed his progress, and the striker will be looking to follow in the footsteps of his two team-mates next term.

Speaking to swindontownfc.co.uk after the three were offered their deals, Interim Academy Manager Alan McLoughlin said:

"We are very pleased for them personally and they've worked very hard to get to where they've got to.

"They have earned their contracts.

"Jordan and Joe have both made their debuts and Sol has come along. He's got a bit to do, he knows that but there is potential there and he's not the finished article yet.

"Louis Spalding, Ollie Rejek and Paolo Giamattei have been released, so 50% of the Second-Year Scholars have been taken on.

"It is always difficult and emotions run high.

"The three released are all very good players, they are players that I admire and they are all very good professionals in terms of their attitude and commitment to Swindon Town Football Club."

The club would also like to wish Louis Spalding, Ollie Rejek and Paolo Giamattei the best of luck for the future after the trio were not offered professional contracts for next season.
