A SOL-FUL PERFORMANCE FROM PRYCE

28 November 2018

Sol Pryce made Swindon Town history on Tuesday night, becoming the 1000th player to play for the club in the league.

Pryce grabbed two on his bow for the club, as Town beat Stevenage 3-2, the first of which was possibly the quickest goals in the club’s history.

“Was it 18 seconds? I haven’t been told yet but I was pleased to contribute with a goal that early to get us going on the front foot. I was buzzing with that.

"The cross was decent – Stevie is a good player and knows where to put the ball and when to play it, so it’s a delight for me.

"Second goal, Michael Doughty is a good player and slips it in and I try and work on that (finishing) in training, being composed, not panicking and waiting for the keeper to make their move.

Looking back on his time with the club, Pryce was grateful to all those that had helped him get to this point.

“I got into the academy when I was about 15 and came through it from there – now I’m here so I’m so grateful to my family, the coaches who have pushed me this far.

“I just want to keep my head down and work hard – you can’t get big-headed obviously and just keep on training."
