Keshi Anderson, Jordan Young and Scott Twine scored for a Town XI that saw off Southampton Under-23s at the Energy Check County Ground this afternoon.
Town came up against a renowned academy who have started their season in Premier League Two well, but were impressive as they mixed youth and first-team talent.
Jordan Edwards’ excellent diagonal ball found Elijah Adebayo who fought off his man to cut the ball back to Keshi Anderson and he only had to tap in from a few yards out.
Adebayo’s physical presence was proving to be a handful for the young Southampton team, but the striker had to leave the field after a clash of heads.
Soly Pryce came on for Toumani Diagouraga in the first half and shortly after, came close after Luke Woolfenden produced a brilliant cross, but the striker failed to trouble the keeper with his header.
Jordan Young doubled Swindon’s lead just before half time with a terrifically whipped free kick after Keshi Anderson had been fouled as he advanced towards goal.
In the 89th minute Scott Twine used his quikck feet to beat two Southampton players followed by a one-two with Jordan Young - Twine then unleashed a thumping, low strike from outside the area to add a shine to the performance.
