Michael Doughty had mixed emotions after Town’s 2-2 draw with Lincoln City at the Energy Check County Ground.
Doughty came off the bench and scored a double as Town came from 2-0 down to grab a share of the spoils.
Lincoln had two men sent off on the day – Bruno Andrade, for a stamp on Kyle Knoyle, before Jason Shackell, the Imps’ opening goalscorer, was sent off after Doughty’s first for dissent and a second booking.
Shay McCartan volleyed in from 20 yards to put the visitors two-nil up at half-time but Doughty’s introduction and subsequent comeback left him relieved but somewhat frustrated.
“Ultimately I thought the boys did really well. Just a couple of lapses in concentration cost us, and a wonder goal from them.
“Even when you’re 2-0 down with 10 or nine men it’s a tough ask. I remember last year playing for Peterborough at Milton Keynes Dons – who had nine men – and we lost 1-0.
“I know the feeling and the frustration from before.”
