200 SEASON TICKETS GIVEN TO LOCAL SCHOOLS

4 July 2019

Swindon Town, in partnership with STFC Foundation, are delighted to offer 200 free season-tickets to local primary schools for 5-11 year-olds for the 2019/20 season.

Through the Foundation, ten schools will receive an allocation of tickets for schools to use throughout the campaign.

Richie Wellens, alongside Michael Doughty, Jerry Yates, Dion Conroy and Mathieu Baudry, visited The Croft Primary School and joined our Foundation coaches to deliver a session and speak to year 5 students, sign autographs and pose for pictures as the initiative was launched.

Last season, Richie Wellens promised, when talking to the press, that more work would be done in the community and this is the start of a campaign of increased engagement with local schools and the Foundation.

First-team Manager, Richie Wellens said:

"Hopefully, with the coaching that these kids recieve, they'll be in our youth teams and first-teams someday but if they don't do that then we want them to be Swindon Town supporters.

We want this to be the first step in their passion for the club and their love for the club."

Shane Hewlett, of the STFC Foundation, said:

"We've linked in with the Premier League Fans Fund to really improve the experience of supporters when they come to football clubs and we know how important it is to encourage the next generation of young fans.

To be giving 200 tickets out and utilising our partner schools is just a great opportunity for young children to pick Swindon as their first football club."
