LLOYD ISGROVE ANNOUNCED

30 July 2019

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of Lloyd Isgrove following the completion of a successful trial with the club.

Isgrove signs on a one-year deal following the completion of his contract at Barnsley. The deal is subject to EFL and FA approval.

The 26-year-old winger was part of Southampton’s renowned academy from the age of 9 and signed a professional deal just under ten years later in 2012.

The winger spent five years as a senior pro at the Saints. His first loan spell away from St. Mary’s came in March 2014 where Isgrove moved to Peterborough and he was part of the EFL Trophy winning side as Posh overcame Chesterfield at Wembley.

Subsequent loans at Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley preceded his permanent move to the latter in 2017. He featured for Barnsley 26 time in their promotion from League One to the Championship with his form earning him a first senior international call-up.

After representing Wales at youth level, he featured for the senior side in a 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland, three months before their European Championship heroics.

Upon signing, Isgrove said:

“I’m obviously delighted to sign now. I’ve been here for two weeks and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m delighted to get it over the line and I can’t wait to get started on Saturday.”
