ADAM MAY ARRIVES ON LOAN

11 June 2019

Swindon Town are delighted to confirm the signing of central midfielder, Adam May on a season-long loan from Portsmouth.

May is an all-action midfielder that, at 21-years-old, already has an impressive amount of games under his belt.

The Southampton-born loanee has had loan spells in the National League with Aldershot and Sutton United as well as featuring for Pompey over the last three years.

While at Sutton, May featured in the U’s famous run to the FA Cup Fourth Round. The young midfielder started every game including wins over league sides AFC Wimbledon and Leeds before eventually bowing out to Arsenal.

Upon joining, May said:

“I can’t wait to get started. Obviously, it’s a great club and, after speaking to the Gaffer I can only be positive for the season so I’m really looking forward to it.

He’s told me the way he wants to play next season and I think that will suit me. I felt it was time to have a loan and hopefully I can show what I can do here.”

Swindon boss, Richie Wellens said:

“Adam's a very good footballer, really clever. He has a terrific range of passing – short or long – so he gives us a different dimension.

“I’ve seen him five or six times myself and Noel Hunt speaks very highly of him from his time with Portsmouth.”
