REID EAGER TO GET GOING

5 June 2019

Tyler Reid says he is ready to take the chance given to him by Swindon manager, Richie Wellens, after joining the club on Monday.

Reid became Town’s first summer signing after being released by Swansea at the end of the 2018/19 season and this will be the second time he has worked with his new boss.

While Reid was making his way through the United academy, Wellens was working with Paul McGuinness who coached the young full-back during his time with Red Devils.

Wellens described his new acquisition as ‘one who stood out’ alongside England international, Marcus Rashford.

Speaking to iFollow Swindon, the right-back spoke about his new club and his new Gaffer.

“The place looks good and I’m ready for it to be my home really. The Gaffer says he wants to give me a chance and I’m ready to take it.

“He’s obviously Mancunian which is where I’ve been living for around seven years so we can click in that way but he seems like a good guy and I’m happy to be working with him.”

Reid has an instant physical presence – big and muscular – and looks forward to impressing the Swindon faithful from right-back.

“I offer a lot of pace and power – I like to get forward a lot but I like to think I’m sturdy in defence as well so that’s what they can expect from me.”
