ROMANSKI SIGNS NEW CONTRACT

22 May 2019

Swindon Town are delighted to announce that Joe Romanski has signed a one-year extension to his contract keeping him at the club for the 2019/20 season.

Joe was offered terms at the end of the last campaign after a successful campaign with the first-team and on-loan at Bath City.

Romanksi has been with the club since the age of 15 signing a two-year scholarship with the club at 16, before signing professional terms ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The 19-year-old became the first player born in the new millennium to play for the first-team at the end of the 2017/18 season making his debut against Grimsby Town.

He started the following campaign alongside the first-team and scored his first goal three games in; the winner in the 3-2 win over Tranmere at the County Ground.

Romanski spent the second-half of the season on-loan at Bath City keeping five clean sheets in his eight games with the Romans.

Upon signing, Romanski said:

“I’m really happy. Happy that the Gaffer has put enough trust in me to keep me at the club for another year to further my development. The experiences I’ve gained over the last year are only going to help me become a better player.

“The spell I had with the first-team at the start of the season and at the end with Bath – they’re experiences that I can only gain a positive understanding from.

I’ve already started my pre-season programme – getting strong, getting fit and make that position mine this year.”
