CADDIS IS BACK

15 November 2019

Swindon Town Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Paul Caddis on a short-term deal.

Caddis returns to the club nine years after first switching to the west country and goes straight into the squad for the Robins’ trip to Salford City.

The Scotsman first joined Swindon from Celtic back in 2010 and went on to captain the side to League Two promotion under Paolo Di Canio.

In total he spent three years in Wiltshire after arriving alongside Simon Ferry from the Bhoys – his hard work, quality on the ball and leadership will be remembered by all who followed the Town at that time.

In his time at the County Ground he made 92 appearances scoring six goals in total – in the 2011/12 season, he was an ever-present under Di Canio in one of the most memorable seasons in the club’s history.

In 2012, he led Swindon out at Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy where Town ultimately lost to Chesterfield.

Since then, he’s spent time with Birmingham, in the Championship - after originally heading there on-loan from Swindon – Bury, Blackburn and Bradford.

Caddis has been training with the club in recent weeks to keep fit and sharp and manager, Richie Wellens said he’s been one of the best on the pitch:

“He is a very good trainer, very fit and a good footballer as well – and, above all, his attitude is spot on.”
