PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (H)

11 October 2019

Swindon Town welcome Plymouth Argyle to the County Ground this Saturday for the second time in a week.

The Robins will be looking to turn around their recent home form as they face the Pilgrims four days after their 3-0 defeat to Argyle in the Leasing.com Trophy. Richie Wellens made eight changes to the side that lost to Bradford in the league last Saturday.

Swindon currently sit in seventh with the gap to the top remaining at only four points with Mark Cooper’s Forest Green Rovers overtaking Exeter City last weekend.

Manager, Richie Wellens, has called for the home support at the County Ground to match the noise made by the 2,300-plus that Argyle are expected to bring.

“It has to be positive – it’s going to be a good crowd on Saturday. Plymouth are going to bring quite a few. So, let’s come on Saturday – let’s get out of this rut.”

Centre back, Mathieu Baudry, could potentially return from the injury he suffered against Colchester United in September that would sure up manager, Richie Wellens’ options at centre half. The latest addition, Gabriel Zakuani, made his Robins debut on Saturday against Bradford and started the game in the week in the Leasing.com Trophy.

Eoin Doyle, who has made quite the impact since joining on-loan from Bradford City, will be looking to get back scoring in front of the Town End. He is League Two’s joint top scorer with Mansfield’s, Danny Rose – both on seven goals. Jerry Yates is just behind but notched his sixth of the season in the 2-1 away defeat at Bradford.

Plymouth sit in 14th currently four points behind Wellens’ side.
