STEVENS SIGNS FROM LEEDS ON LOAN

21 September 2020

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder, Jordan Stevens from Leeds United on a year loan deal, subject to FA and EFL approval.

The 20-year-old started his professional career at Forest Green after stepping up from their youth squad in September 2017.

He played 15 games for Rovers in all competitions and his only goal for the club came in a 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town in the FA Trophy in October 2017.

Stevens Joined Leeds at the beginning of February 2018 and has made 5 appearances under Marcelo Bielsa, including a 12-minute FA Cup cameo in their 1-0 loss to Arsenal in January.

Jordan is a versatile midfielder who can play in central midfield and can also be used in a wider position as a winger.

During his time at Forest Green, Stevens was played in the middle of midfield but having trained under Marcelo Bielsa, he has been converted to a winger after a short spell at right-back in the Leeds U23 side.

Upon signing his loan deal with the club, Jordan said:

“I’m more than happy that the deal is finally done. I’m looking forward to getting to meet the lads and see where League One gets us.”

“Swindon are a club that have just been promoted, the club is close to family which is great.”

“I’m looking forward to working under Richie Wellens, he’s an ex-player and that’s the sort of manager I want to work for.”

“With this league, any team can beat any team, so hopefully we can do our best and see where that takes us.”

We look forward to Jordan joining the team here at Swindon and wish him all the best for the year ahead.
