Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Ryan East on a free transfer.
With the 2021-22 EFL Sky Bet League Two season starting today, the Reds have further bolstered their ranks with the addition of East.
A cultured midfielder who has excellent ability on the ball, the 23-year-old rose through the ranks at Reading FC and was an integral part of their Academy setup.
He was the only ever-present for the U23s in 2017-18 as he featured in the PL2, the Premier League International Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy, while he was nominated for the PL2 Player of the Month in September 2018.
East impressed so much that he earned a call-up to the first-team squad and was an unused substitute in the Royals' Emirates FA Cup tie against Manchester United at Old Trafford in January 2019, although he went on to make his first-team debut for Reading two months later against Leeds United.
Head Coach Ben Garner and Director of Football Ben Chorley are building a young, dynamic and exciting team full of hungry and determined players, and East fits into that culture perfectly.
Speaking on East's arrival, Chorley had this to say:
"Ryan has been with us for two weeks and has shown promising attributes.
"He is a ball playing midfielder with bags of potential, and we wish Ryan all the best for the season."
Town are delighted to have Ryan East on board for the 2021-22 season, and we wish him the very best of luck during his time with us at SN1.
