Swindon Town fell short despite a battling performance as they lost 2-1 to Carlisle United at The County Ground on Saturday.
Playing in their first home game of the 2021-22 EFL Sky Bet League Two season, the Reds were unlucky not to get at least a point after a spirited second-half performance.
Joe Riley beat Jojo Wollacott with a great strike to give Carlisle the lead in the first-half, only for Romoney Crichlow to pop up with the equaliser at the half-hour mark to restore parity and record his first goal in Town colours.
However, the Cumbrians had the last laugh of the first-half as Tristan Abrahams tapped home a rebound from close-range, and that goal proved to be the deciding one.
Town were much, much better in the second-half and they launched wave after wave of attack on the Carlisle goal, but they were missing that little bit of luck and were unable to force the equaliser across the line.
