Town bring in talented youngster Ricky Aguiar

Another new face arrives at SN1

10 August 2021

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of promising midfielder Ricky Aguiar on a free transfer.

With the 2021-22 EFL Sky Bet League Two campaign now underway, the Reds continue to bolster their ranks and Aguiar certainly arrives at SN1 with a lot of promise.

Only 20-years-old, Aguiar has already achieved a lot in his career having played in excess of 80 games for Worthing FC in the Isthmian League, racking up double figures in goals in consecutive seasons for the club.

That culminated in Aguiar being crowned Manager's and Player's Player of the Year in 2018-19, while he also won the former award again in 2019-20.

Aguiar has a very bright future ahead of him and Town's Director of Football Ben Chorley had this to say on our latest addition:

"For a 20-year-old, Ricky brings a massive amount of experience in men's football, to play in excess of 80 games by the age of 20 at any level is very encouraging, but to do it in the Isthmian league week in and week out is testament to his character," Chorley told swindontownfc.co.uk.

"We put Ricky in the same bracket signing as Mo Dabre - young, hungry players that we can coach and mould within our first team environment."

Aguiar will wear number 28 for Town this season.

Everyone at Swindon Town are very excited to have Aguiar on board for the 2021-22 season and we wish him the very best of luck for this season and beyond.
