Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner was thrilled with his team after seeing them progress in the Emirates FA Cup this afternoon.

The Reds beat Walsall 2-1 at The Bank's Stadium earlier today to book their place in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time since 2011-12, while also securing their eighth straight away win in the process.

Speaking to the media in the wake of the game, Garner gave his views on the result and the performance, plus lots more...

Garner On Result & Performance...

"We're delighted.

"We're in the Third Round and fingers crossed we'll get a great tie now and we'll see who we get in the next round.

"It was a great performance away from home at a difficult place to come, they were right at it and we certainly had to roll up our sleeves in the first-half and in the second half.

"It was a pleasing performance and delighted to be in that hat for the next round.

"I thought we started really well with the ball, we had good control, scored a great goal and then we showed the other side where we had to roll up our sleeves.

"They came on strong in the first-half, built some momentum but I thought defensively we were very solid in the second-half, we limited them to very little, passed it well, broke really well, the transitions were good and it was just the final ball, the final decision.

"I thought we should have scored a third goal to kill the game but, other than that, very, very pleasing."

Garner On Kaine Kesler-Hayden...

"We were having a joke about it in the week because he's a local lad and I was joking that he was missing on purpose to save his goal, but he gets there all the time and as long as you are getting there opportunities will come.

"It was really instinctive the way he moved into that position and finished it well on his right foot.

"Really pleased for Kaine, as is all the dressing room."

Garner On Jojo Wollacott...

"Jojo has got a fantastic mentality as a goalkeeper. He's one of those who may not be as busy for a period but he can maintain his position, his work ethic and his focus and he was top, top class.

"To make those saves at the end after not being too busy for periods shows the mentality he's got."

Garner On Away Support...

The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic today. Every away game has been incredible but today to take that amount of support was phenomenal and we're really, really pleased we can send them home happy today and get into that Third Round.

"I thank every single one of them for making the journey."

Garner On Being In The Third Round...

"I might watch it, I might not - you get who you get.

"It is no point hoping for this and hoping for that, it is just a case of whichever team is drawn out of that hat we'll prepare for that game when it comes round and we'll do our best to get through it.

"But from the fans' perspective and the club's perspective, I'd be absolutely delighted to get a huge club for the club and the fans to have a great day out.

"There's a few teams I'd like, I'd take anyone in the top six of the Premier League for starters, I would love to go back to Crystal Palace, my hometown club, but it is not about me it is about the club and hopefully we get a great draw.

"Whoever we get we will focus, we'll prepare for it and we'll be trying to get through to the Fourth Round."
