AN OPEN LETTER TO SWINDON TOWN SUPPORTERS

11 February 2021

Firstly, we hope that all Town supporters are keeping safe and well at this difficult time.

The Club also appreciate that this period has been tough for our supporters too, with many of you being adversely affected financially by COVID - 19. We hope that supporters and their families are keeping in good health throughout this pandemic. We would like to once again thank those supporters who kept their 4 game refunds in the Club from last season and for continuing to support us this year with season tickets and iFollow match pass sales.

Currently, due to the ongoing pandemic all but two of our SkyBet League One home fixtures this season have been played behind closed doors and although season ticket holders have been provided with a streaming code for iFollow, we completely appreciate that nothing can replicate that live match day experience.

Season ticket revenue represents a huge percentage of the Club’s income stream along with match ticket revenue and associated match day sales. It is also increasingly likely that when supporters can return to the County Ground, it will be in a reduced capacity and therefore impacting revenues further.

Normally, as you know, around this time of year, the Club would be releasing season ticket details for season 2021/22. However, this is not something the Club feel is appropriate at this moment in time given the current climate. There is currently a lack of clarity surrounding what numbers of fans will be admitted into the stadium next season and therefore it is something the Club will be able to address in the coming months once more guidance is issued by the Government and EFL.

Over the coming weeks we will be trying to arrange meetings with the Official Supporters Club and TrustSTFC, to canvas opinion and work together on providing a variety of options for current season ticket holders and how we can thank them for their loyalty and support.

Therefore, we will be listening to all of our supporter’s groups to help put in place a plan to move forward. By doing this we hope to achieve a co-ordinated strategic plan that is beneficial for you as fans, but also for the Club in order to get through this period of uncertainty during and after the pandemic.

We would like to thank you for your patience on the matter and we will update supporters in due course as and when any plans are finalised.

Thank you for your support.
