TOWN BRING IN TRAVERS ON LOAN FROM AFC BOURNEMOUTH

6 January 2021

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Mark Travers from AFC Bournemouth on a short-term loan. The deal is subject to EFL and FA Approval.

The Irish keeper signs for Town on a deal until the end of the season.

Travers started his youth career in England with the Cherries in 2016, following spells at Cherry Orchard and Shamrock Rovers in his home country.

The 21-year-old was loaned out to Weymouth in August 2017, where he made twenty three appearances and even scored on his debut in a 3-2 win over Bishop's Stortford.

In May 2019, the young goalkeeper was called up to start for Bournemouth's first-team, where his heroics helped his side see out a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, he has made eight appearances in all competitions for the side on the south coast.

Travers has represented the Republic of Ireland youth sides from Under 15-19's and received a call up to the senior squad in March 2019 where he has played in two International friendlies.

We are very much looking forward to seeing Mark in the Swindon shirt for the remainder of the season and wish him the best of luck during his time here in SN1.
