Manager John McGreal has issued the following message to the supporters of Swindon Town Football Club:
"I would like to take the time to write to the supporters of the football club and assure that myself, Rene and the rest of the back-room staff have all been putting the work in to ensure a successful season in League Two.
In the four weeks that I have been in the job at Swindon, I have spent time speaking with players and agents to build the foundations for a squad for the 2021/22 season.
We as a management team have been in this week preparing for the boys’ arrival for pre-season on Monday 28th and have been planning for our pre-season friendlies in the coming weeks.
In terms of signings, the back-room staff and I have identified six additional players that we are in advanced negotiations with and are hoping to sign before the season starts in August.
We believe these players are of the right calibre to compete in this league and give us the strength we need to push for promotion back to League One.
The club are currently not in a position to announce these signings due to the ongoing court case regarding the ownership of Swindon Town.
Despite these issues, I can confirm that we are working incredibly hard to make sure the fans are proud of their team at the County Ground for the upcoming season.
We hope that we can create a positive atmosphere for you, the Swindon supporters, upon your return to football when it is safe to do so."
