HARRY PARSONS SIGNS FIRST PRO DEAL WITH TOWN

14 June 2021

Swindon Town are delighted to announce that academy forward, Harry Parsons has signed his first professional contract at the club. The deal is subject to EFL and FA approval.

The 18-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the County Ground with an option to extend and his new contract will take effect from July 1st.

The promising striker trained with the first-team during the latter half of last season after impressing in the academy matches in the Youth Alliance League.

Harry also played an instrumental role in last season's Under 18's FA Youth cup run, scoring against Forest Green Rovers and then twice against Bromley to set up a fourth round tie with Ipswich Town.

The Swindon-born striker joined the youth setup at the club in 2011 at the age of nine and has scored goals throughout the age groups.

Parsons made his senior debut in the 2019/20 season when he started in a 1-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers in the EFL Trophy (now Papa John's Trophy).

John Sheridan gave him his League debut when he was used as a late substitute against Crewe Alexandra in December 2020.

Parsons was thrilled to sign his contract at the club:

"I'm buzzing to get it signed. To be offered a pro deal at Swindon is amazing. I've been here pretty much all my life and it's great to get started."

"I just want to work hard. The Gaffer has been very positive about me so far, so hopefully I can continue to work hard so he can see what I'm about."

"[Training with the first-team] has been good, I've gained quite a bit of confidence playing with the boys and I've got a pretty good relationship with the players that are still here, so it'll be good to see them again and get back training."

The youngster gave his thanks to those staff at the academy, in particular the late Alan McLoughlin:

"I want to see thank you to everyone at the academy, but a huge thank you to Macca. He's not with us, but he's been a huge part of my life. He pushed me on a lot, never told me to stop and told me to focus. He's been the one mainly to get me going."

Best of luck for what we hope is a bright and successful future at the club, Harry!
