Swindon Town are delighted to announce the permanent signing of goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott from Bristol City. The deal is subject to EFL and FA approval.
The 24-year-old returns to the County Ground on a one-year deal, having played two games last season for the Town on an emergency goalkeeper loan contract.
His debut was one to remember in a 2-1 win over Crewe Alexandra where he pulled off an acrobatic save to keep the Reds in the game.
Unfortunately for Wollacott, he picked up a slight injury in the warm-up against Northampton and was subsequently sent back to his parent club.
Wollacott believes that already being at the club, albeit for a few games, had a part to play in capturing his signature permanently:
"I'm much more at ease now! It's something I've been thinking about for a while now and it's definitely the right decision for me."
"The Gaffer is ambitious and the most important bit is when you have a manager that believes in your ability, it take the pressure off you a little bit."
When asked about 'that' save against Crewe, Jojo said:
"I think if I can emulate those performances, I'm sure it'll contribute to a successful season."
We’re very pleased to have Jojo back with us at Swindon and look forward to his involvement next season.
