TOM BROADBENT WINS PFA COMMUNITY AWARD

19 May 2021

Tom Broadbent has been awarded the PFA Community Champion for the 2020/21 season.

Broadbent has been recognised for his work with the STFC Community Foundation team away from the football pitch over the past year.

During the season, Tom took part in Zoom calls with elderly fans, giving them the opportunity to ask him questions and speaking to them openly about his own experiences both in football, and in his previous career as a Lance Bombardier with the Royal Artillery.

Tom also regularly helped out with projects that required video apperances, such as the EFL’s You vs. Train campaign, and the Premier League’s World Book Day campaign.

Head of Foundation Jon Holloway said:

“As a CCO, it makes our job a lot easier to know we have First-Team players that we can turn to and rely on for community activities. We’re very grateful that Tom was always happy to make time for us, and we know that meant a lot to our participants and fans.”

Upon receiving the award, Broadbent said:

"I'm incredibly pleased to be winning this award. It's been an absolute pleasure speaking and working with those at the Community Foundation throughout the course of the season."

Congratulations, Tom!
