A WORD FROM BOTH CAMPS

David Artell, Crewe Alexandra Manager: "We have played Swindon over the last few years and we are familiar with a lot of their players. They have a relatively new manager in Ben (Garner) and a few things are bound to change as he stamps his own authority on his team but we have come up against most of their team and know what to expect.

“They are a league below now but are going really well under Ben, so we know it is going to be a tough ask. It will be even tougher if are not prepared to match their endeavour. We will have to stand up and be counted, play our football and show why we are a league above.

“If we don’t then we could be in for a long afternoon."

Ben Garner, Swindon Town Head Coach: "We're looking forward to the game - we're excited.

"It is a break from the league but we want to do well in this competition and we certainly want to go to Crewe and win tomorrow.

"Crewe have got good players, they are a League One team and they've had a club identity over the years, a business model if you like and there are still some good players there.

"We know the threats they will pose and the quality they have within their squad. They are trying to get some momentum into their season and I'm sure they will be desperate to win.

"It should be a good game and one we're looking forward to.

"They've got a good mix to their game. They've got some really good footballers, especially in central midfield, but they've also got the ability to go a little bit more direct and Chris Porter is very good at the level as a target man, Mikael Mandron can either come on for him or play with him and there's a really good mix to their game.

"They've got really good creativity with the way they attack, they play in different shapes, different formations and we've looked at them in detail.

"We know the challenges we are going to face on that front, but we are also confident that we can cause them problems and can go there and win the game.
