Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner has been nominated for the EFL Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award for October.

It has been a stellar start to the 2021-22 season for the Reds who are in promotion contention despite having had a very limited preseason, in addition to a massive squad turnover.

And Garner oversaw what was a statement month in October as Town collected 13 points and four wins from six league games.

What was most impressive about that superb run of form was Town's ability to win big games away from home against rivals Bristol Rovers and Forest Green Rovers, not to mention a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at then high-flying Sutton United.

It demonstrated the ability of this Town team and underlined the superb job Garner has done in building high team chemistry and spirit since taking over at the helm.

Garner's nomination is testament to the sheer amount of hard work that has continued to be put in by everyone at the Football Club over the last few months, from ownership to the back office staff to Ben Chorley to the coaching staff to the medical team to the performance analyst team and the kit men and so many more.

Everyone at Town has given absolutely everything, and the Manager of the Month nomination is worthy recognition for what has been an incredible team effort.

Garner faces competition for the award from Port Vale Manager Darrell Clarke, Matt Taylor of Exeter City and Walsall Boss Matty Taylor.

All winners will be announced at 6am on Friday Morning.

The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.

Good Luck, Gaffer!
