Ricky Aguiar joins Chippenham on loan

Attacker heads out on loan

17 October 2021

Swindon Town Football Club can confirm that Ricky Aguiar has joined Chippenham Town on a one-month loan deal.

The attacker will gain some valuable first-team experience with the National League South outfit, although he will still train with the Reds during the week.

Aguiar joined Town in the summer after impressing for Worthing FC in the Isthmian League, where he racked up double figures in goals in consecutive seasons.

He was crowned the Manager's Player of the Year in both 2018-19 and 2019-20, in addition to being named Player's Player of the Year in 2018-19, and the forward player boasts a huge amount of talent and potential.

Aguiar has started two games for the Reds this season - both in the Papa John's Trophy - and he will now look to further his development by playing for Chippenham Town in a really competitive environment.

"Ricky will go out just to get games, but he'll still train with us to get the coaching and development," Town Head Coach Ben Garner said at his post-Rochdale Press Conference on Saturday.

"It's an opportunity to go to a good level and a good club, one where he will play five or six games over the next 28 days.

"It will give him some more experience at a higher level than he's regularly played at previously.

"We think by doing that he will be able to push closer to our first team."
