The Swindon Town Official Supporters Club visited The County Ground last Friday to spend time with the Swindon Town Academy after very kindly donating a large sum of money.
In order to help the Academy, the Swindon Town Official Supporters Club donated a very generous amount of £2,481.50, raised from their Pounds for Points initiative, which went towards brand new footballs for the Schoolboys from U9s right the way through to the U16s.
It was an incredible gesture from the Swindon Town Official Supporters Club, who want to take an active role in supporting the Academy going forward.
They will be helping the club provide media training for our U18s in the near future and there will be further initiatives announced in due course.
Seamus Brady, Swindon Town's Academy Director, said: "We are incredibly grateful to the Swindon Town Official Supporters Club for their very generous donation. The money given to the Academy has helped us to purchase brand new footballs for all age groups, which has been a huge help.
"It was great to have members of the Official Supporters Club at The County Ground last week to meet the U18s, some of the coaches and have a tour, and we are very much looking forward to working closely with them given their commitment to supporting the Academy going forward."
Hannah Clinch, the Events Coordinator for the Official Supporters Club, said: "It was great to meet the team involved with the Academy and we got a real insight into the Training Programmes that our up-and-coming professionals go through.
"We're really pleased that we've been able to support the purchase of some new footballs and hope that this will be the first of many initiatives working as a joined-up unit."
Swindon Town would like to thank the Official Supporters Club for their support of the Academy, and we look forward to working together over the coming weeks and months on different projects as we continue to work as one to get this Football Club back to where it belongs.
