Gaffer gives his thoughts on Vale clash

Ben Garner previews today's game

Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner is looking forward to seeing his team pit their wits against Port Vale this afternoon.

The Reds are back in EFL Sky Bet League Two action at The County Ground this afternoon, and Garner is looking forward to the test ahead in-front of what should be another bumper crowd at SN1.

"We're really looking forward to it," Garner told the local media.

"We've had back-to-back home wins now with the Mansfield league game and then Arsenal on Tuesday night, so we're looking to make it three home wins out of three.

"We've had a good training week again, the players are in good shape and in good spirits.

"We know it is going to be a tough game, Port Vale are a good side and I've watched their games so far this season and they could have easily taken more points than they have.

"They've had some really good performances, notably away at Forest Green Rovers recently, where I thought they played really, really well and I know with a Darrell Clarke side they are going to be really organised, they are going to be highly-motivated, they are going to be intense and we know we have to be at the top of our game in order to get the three points.

"They pose a threat from the counter-attack, they are effective from set-pieces, they've got a long throw that they are very capable with and they've got good weapons.

"We know it is going to be a tough game, we know they have talented players in their squad but, as always, we're going to be focusing on our strengths and pushing to try and win the game."
