Simpson reflects on Northampton draw

Goalscorer gives his views

18 September 2021

Tyreece Simpson felt Swindon Town deserved more than a point following today's 1-1 draw away at Northampton Town.

Simpson's third goal of the season, and his second goal in as many games, gave the Reds the lead in the second-half at Sixfields, but Fraser Horsfall's powerful header ensured that the spoils were shared.

And, in the wake of an entertaining encounter, Simpson spoke to the local media to give his thoughts on the result and the performance.

"Another goal and I could have had at least three, but I thought we deserved more than a point today," Simpson told the media.

"We'll take it into next week.

"We said before kick-off that we had to start how we wanted to play for the rest of the game and I felt we did that.

"However, there was a stage where we stopped doing what we were doing and that allowed them to get on top.

"We've just got to keep going throughout the whole game.

"I feel like I'm improving each week, getting better and better and the goals are coming.

"I can't complain."
