STFC throw their support behind Swindon Town Women's FC

Another positive and huge step taken

10 September 2021

Swindon Town Football Club were delighted to host Swindon Town Women FC at The County Ground on Thursday night as the two parties continue to strive to support each other and work closely side by side.

Town Owner Clem Morfuni and CEO Rob Angus have made it a priority to support Swindon Town Women in every way possible, and we were thrilled to be able to welcome them to SN1 last night as they conducted a team meeting and team photos.

Both clubs should be working together as part of the same family, and Clem and Rob were in attendance to outline their vision to coaches, players and staff from Swindon Town Women.

It was a brilliant night for all in attendance and we look forward to building on our relationship with Swindon Town Women both this season and beyond.

Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that Swindon Town Women FC’s fixture against Exeter City will be played at The County Ground on 31st October, and they will be playing further games at SN1 over the course of this season and beyond.

Mike Dixon, the Vice Chair of Swindon Town Women FC, said: “What Clem, Rob and the entire Swindon Town setup have achieved within two months is incredible.

"To be included as part of this is an honour for the Women's Club, and to play at The County Ground is a real privilege.

"We really want to thank everyone at the Football Club who have been so supportive of these forward steps, and we look forward to a bumper crowd getting behind the girls on October 31st."

Rob Angus, CEO of Swindon Town Football Club, said: “Both Clem and I were absolutely delighted to be able to attend the Swindon Town Women FC’s meeting on Thursday and outline our vision for all aspects of the Football Club.

“Our Women’s team should be an integral part of this Football Club and that will certainly be the case going forward.

“They have our full support, including full use of our facilities here at The County Ground, and we are also delighted to announce that they will be playing their fixture here against Exeter City at SN1 on October 31st.

“That won’t be a one off as there will be more Swindon Town Women FC games here at The County Ground this season and beyond, and they have our full support going forward.”
