Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner knows that good home form could be crucial in the promotion run-in this season.

The Reds take on Newport County in a huge promotion clash in the EFL Sky Bet League Two at The County Ground today, and Town will be hoping to take full advantage of home comforts both today and the rest of the way.

"I know that the form has improved, we’ve scored twenty-two goals in nine games since the turn of the year which is great," Garner said.

"Four wins in the last five, yeah it has improved, the fans have been fantastic, and the atmosphere and support in the stadium has been incredible.

"We’ve had some really good performances at home since the turn of the year. I’ve said all season, we don’t approach games differently whether we’re home or away, we set out to win every game and I think there was a lot of bad luck in the games before Christmas.

"There were games that we should have won. We had a few errors within games that cost us points, we’ve had a lot of decisions go against us that I think have cost us a lot of points and it's just a case of working through those things.

"If we can maintain the current home form, I think we have got four out of the seven at home, which could play a big part in this promotion challenge."

And Garner went on to say that his team's only focus between now and the end of the season should be on themselves.

"I think every game now is a huge game," Garner said.

"We’ve got seven to go and we’ve just got to focus on us, there’s no point wasting your thought process or your energy on anything outside our control.

"We’ve got seven games, that's all we can affect. Let's make sure we’re doing everything we can within every one of these games to get us in the best possible position at the end of the season, and that starts tomorrow.

We’ve got to perform, we’ve got to play very well to win the game. That’s our only focus."
