Garner on Leyton Orient test

Gaffer looks ahead to Easter Monday

17 April 2022

Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner knows his team will be in for a tough afternoon against Leyton Orient on Easter Monday.

The Reds will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they welcome the O's to SN1 on Monday (3pm Kick-Off), with the visitors managed by former Town Boss, Richie Wellens.

Wellens has sparked a resurgence for Orient who have won four of their last six outings, including beating Scunthorpe United 3-0 last time out, and Garner is aware that his side won't be in for an easy ride tomorrow.

"They've done really well," Garner said.

"They've got a good squad there. They had a pretty good run up until Christmas and then things changed, results worsened for them and unfortunately Kenny (Jackett) lost his job.

"Since Richie has come in, he's done a really good job, he changed the style of play and they've got some really talented players there, especially at the top end of the pitch.

"You look at the attacking midfield players and the front players that they've got, they are as good as anything in this division and on their day they can certainly beat anyone.

"It is going to be a tough game.

"We're going to need to play very well to win, and that will be the aim.

"We want to perform well on Monday, we want back-to-back wins and try to help our own cause.

"That will be our only focus."
