August STFC Advisory Board minutes now available

All the key points from our latest meeting…

19 August 2022

Swindon Town Football Club can now make public the minutes from the Advisory Board meeting for August, which was hosted at The County Ground earlier this month.

A number of key points were discussed, including:

  • Debts down from £4.5million to £1.3million with historic HMRC debt now repaid in full.
  • Season tickets at 5,100 with the aim to hit 6,000 where one lucky season ticket holder will win the ‘Golden Ticket to Oz’ courtesy of Clem.
  • New kiosk offering driving good revenues into the club which will be reinvested.  Monies generated from the Salford game. were five times those through the old outsourced arrangement.
  • The County Ground purchase is progressing as planned with legal side being finalised.
  • Big push on use of County Ground for conferences, parties and other events to drive greater monies into the football club
  • EFL have issued fan behaviour guidelines with bans for supporters invading the pitch or using pyrotechnics.
  • Stadium repairs continue, but these are always a challenge to maintain given the age of the stadium and historic under investment
  • Discussions on plans for STFC Museum continue, along with plans from Trust STFC around erecting a statue for Town legend, Don Rogers.
  •

These were just some of the many topics discussed in the meeting, and fans can read the minutes in full by clicking here.

The sole purpose of the STFC Advisory Board is to meet monthly to review and assess the performance and strategic direction of the football club, and to ensure there is open, transparent and regular engagement on key matters impacting all aspects.

It also builds on the memorandum of understanding that was recently signed between Swindon Town and TrustSTFC, and it continues the commitment from the club to maintain open and honest engagement with its fanbase.

The STFC Advisory Board meets every month and there is an opportunity for fans to raise any questions they have via TrustSTFC and the Supporters Club.

The Advisory Board meetings present an ideal opportunity for supporters to share feedback, ideas and suggestions to the club’s management team, so we encourage everyone to get in touch with either of the supporter groups.
