Versatile defender heads to SN1 from Burton Albion…

Swindon Town have completed the loan signing of Burton Albion defender Frazer Blake-Tracy.

The 26-year-old will spend the remainder of the season at The County Ground before returning to his parent club next summer.

Having started his football career in non-league, Blake-Tracy made 46 appearances for Dereham Town during the 2015/16 season before heading to Ryman Premier Division side Lowestoft Town in July 2016.

In the summer of 2017, he moved onto King’s Lynn, where he was two short of making 100 appearances for the club.

In July 2019, Blake-Tracy was snapped up by Peterborough United while in League One, signing a two-year deal with The Posh and making 24 starts under Darren Ferguson.

Following his release in June last year, Burton Albion announced his signature, and he’s appeared seven times for The Brewers.

Speaking to Town’s media team, Blake-Tracy, said: “This was a really easy decision for me to come here and I can’t wait to get going.

“Scott Lindsey is building a really exciting team that has a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to being a part of that and playing regularly.

“I’ve played against Swindon before and heard really good things about the club, so to be given the chance to come here and play is massive for me.”

Town First-Team Head Coach, Scott Lindsey, said: “I’m delighted to get Frazer over the line. He’s got experience in the league above us which will be invaluable in helping push us forward.

“With a few injuries to our left side, he’ll add extra strength in this area and give our squad more balance.”

Town Technical Director, Sandro Di Michele, said: “Frazer is a great signing for us and a really important one. He comes here with great calibre and a lot of experience in League One.

“He brings with him defensive solidity, a real energy going forward and he’s a really good personality. He also knows what it’s like to get promoted having done so with Peterborough, so experience like this can only have a positive impact.”
