James Lally prepares his side for their first home game of the new season…

Swindon Town Women face Larkhall this Sunday (28 August), in their first home game of the new league season, with the action getting underway at 2pm.

James Lally’s side suffered defeat to Selsey on the opening weekend, going down 3-1 to the recently relegated side despite an even affair and creating the better chances, so Town will be searching for their first win to get them up and running against The Larks.

This weekend’s tie promises to be an exciting clash with both sides having come away with 3-2 victories during their encounters last term.

The game will mark our girls first game at Foundation Park, where they’ll be playing several matches over the coming months, as well as Fairford Town’s Cinder Lane and The County Ground.

Discussions held over the summer with all parties involved identified more home fixtures in the FA Women’s National League South West Division One should be played in the heart of the Town as a priority, and an agreement has seen a hybrid model put in place.

Four games will take place at Foundation Park across the campaign including Sunday’s clash, with talks still ongoing around some key dates for the girls to perform in front of a bigger crowd at The County Ground.

This Sunday against Larkhall will see some local mascots in attendance to lead the team out, while the players will be on hand at the end of the fixture to mingle with all those in attendance for photos and autographs. We want as much noise as possible for the team so come along, bring your voices and cheer them on.

There is plenty of parking available in the main County Ground car park and Tesco with admission prices as follows:

Adults: £3
Senior Citizens (65+): £1
Children (U16): Free
Trust STFC & STFC Supporters Club Members: Free

Also available will be tickets for the half time 50/50 prize draw priced at £1

We look forward to seeing you there. COYR!
