Remembering...

Carla Heaton

Many of you will already be aware of the sad passing of Swindon Town’s talented young goalkeeper Carla Heaton recently.

Carla was a dedicated player and represented our club, making a number of appearance across the under-16 and development age groups, before moving up into the first-team.

She was a much loved member of the squad and filled the pitch with her amazing personality and colourful hair. She was just 22 when she passed away on 21st November.

She will be sorely missed by her friends and family who remember what joy she brought to their lives.

Her work colleague and friend has set up a GoFund me page to help with the cost of her funeral and assist her family at this extremely difficult time, and you can donate directly via the QR code in today’s matchday programme

Please join us in holding a minutes applause for Carla on the first minute tomorrow as we remember a truly incredible young girl. A number one, forever in our hearts.

Harry Parker

Today’s game with will also see us pay tribute to Harry Parker, who was the victim of a hit and run on Akers Way last week.

We’ll be holding a minute’s applause on the 14th minute to remember him, so please join us in paying our respects.

Forever in our hearts.

Wiltshire Police are still appealing for witnesses and information to the incident. If you can help, please call their Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, or email SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk

Half-time and events...

We have our Under-5 to under-7 Girls Development Centre on the pitch playing games at half time tomorrow.

This will be some of the girls first ever Swindon Town game and many have only recently begun weekly football sessions with us, so please make some noise and cheer them on.

Fundraising...

Can you donate a little something to the Alzheimer’s Society tomorrow?

We’re proud to welcome ‘Forget Me Not For Dementia Loss’ back to The County Ground this afternoon.

The wonderful group will be carrying out bucket collections before the game and at half-timearound the ground in a bid to raise valuable funds for The Alzheimer’s Society to help those affected by the condition and support families to live fulfilling and independent lives.

There are currently 2,700 people living with dementia across Swindon, and too many of them are doing their best to cope alone without adequate support, so anything you can spare today will make a huge difference.

Thank you.

Car parking...

  • There will be NO parking available on the day at The County Ground.

As usual, we’ll have several customer care stewards and some friendly faces around the ground to help and assist you should you need anything.

We look forward to seeing you.
