Swindon Town are back on the road tonight as they take on Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Sky Bet League Two at Prenton Park.

The Reds are in action at Prenton Park later - 7:45pm Kick-Off - and will be looking to pick up a big three points after losing to Exeter City at the weekend.

Tranmere, meanwhile, drew with Barrow on Saturday and the second-placed team will be looking to extend the gap between them and Town with a win tonight.

TEAM NEWS

Town will be without Jack Payne who continues to work his way back from a knee injury, while Dion Conroy will miss his second straight game with an achilles injury.

There's more bad news on the injury front, too, with Jordan Lyden facing months on the sideline after rupturing his achilles during Saturday's loss to Exeter.

Jay Spearing will miss out for Tranmere, who are also waiting to see if Josh McPake will be available to play in tonight's game.

A WORD FROM THE TOWN CAMP:

Swindon Exeter_cf1_0043.jpg

Ben Garner, Swindon Town Head Coach: "So it’s a game we’re looking forward to.

"Our record, particularly away from home against the top teams is very very good, you know, and we can go there with real confidence.

"We’ve gone to Forest Green and won, we’ve gone to Newport, we’ve been to Sutton, we’ve been to Port Vale, we drew at Northampton.

"Against the teams at the top end of the table in this division, we’ve done very well away from home, so we have to take confidence from that and we just need that win to turn this momentum around. One game can change everything and hopefully that can be tomorrow night.

"Their defence has been their strength, without a shadow of a doubt. Peter Clarke is still one of the best in the division for what he does and defending that final third and they’re very organised under Mick (Micky Mellon) and are a really hard-working team.

"They play different shapes at different times, he’s got good versatility there, but their strength has been their defensive organisation and resilience. They’ve not let many goals in and that’s been the foundation for the success of their season so far."
