Garner - We're going to fight for everything

Gaffer on Scunthorpe test

11 February 2022

Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner knows his team will be giving everything they've got in battle on Saturday when they entertain Scunthorpe United at SN1.

The Iron come to The County Ground tomorrow - 3pm Kick-Off - full of confidence having won in the week, a vital three points as they look to climb off the bottom of the table.

On the flip side, Town are in a battle themselves having lost two in a row, and Garner knows his players will give it everything they've got in the search for a huge win tomorrow afternoon.

"They obviously had a really good win in midweek which I'm sure will give them confidence, and they are fighting for every point at the bottom end of the table and looking to stay in the division," Garner said.

"That's always a challenge because you know how much it means to them as a group and their players and their manager, but we've got our own fight.

"We've got our own battle that we want to get back into those Play-Off positions as quickly as we can and we need to get as many points as we can, so I think both teams will be fighting for everything on the pitch.

"They've got good experience with some of the signings they've made, they've got a nice mix of youth in there and they've altered their formation but, generally, they have a lot of bodies down the middle of the pitch and a good mix to their play.

"We've analysed them and what they've done, where we think their strengths are and what type of game we envisage, and we've just got to go and deliver now.

"We've got to go and deliver, have the right mindset and attack the game."
