Swindon Town Head Coach Ben Garner has been pleased with how his team have come through a testing week ahead of today's clash against Northampton Town.
After an enforced break, the Reds finally returned to action on Wednesday in a 0-0 draw with Stevenage, giving it their all despite limited training time.
Now back in action yet again later this afternoon in the first game of 2022 at The County Ground (3pm Kick-Off), Garner gave an update on his team during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.
"We were in on Thursday. We had a recovery group and a training group so everyone got what they needed," Garner said.
"We had one player back in and we're due the last of the players who have been suffering with COVID back in (on Friday morning), and everyone has come through well.
"We've not picked up any injuries, everyone has got through the game well which is great considering, so we're pleased and now we push into Northampton tomorrow.
"Again, it was an incredible effort from the players on Wednesday. The data was good, three or four of the players were outstanding and the data was up to where it would normally be, which is a phenomenal effort considering where they were eight or nine days ago and the minimal amount of training we've had.
"We can certainly improve, we can certainly play a lot better but, in terms of the effort and getting through the game, I was delighted with the players and the second-half was so much better than the first.
"Now we're in a much better place going into the Northampton game."
