Swindon Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of talented defender Joe Tomlinson from Peterborough United.
Tomlinson joins on loan from Posh until the end of the 2021-22 EFL Sky Bet League Two season, where he has been plying his trade at left-back and left wing-back.
The highly-rated defender will give Head Coach Ben Garner plenty of options throughout the second-half of the season.
Having come through the ranks at Southampton, Tomlinson joined Eastleigh for the 2020-21 season and he enjoyed a breakout year, scoring a remarkable 12 goals with two assists while helping his team keep 15 clean sheets in 42 appearances.
Those exploits saw Tomlinson earn the Eastleigh's Player's Player and Supporter's Player of the Season Awards, as well as sealing a big move to Championship outfit Peterborough in the summer of 2021.
With five starts under his belt this season, with the last of these coming on Saturday against Sheffield United, the 21-year-old is an accomplished crosser of the ball, is competent with both feet and will be a huge asset defensively and going forward.
Tomlinson is Town's sixth and final signing of what has been a hugely successful January Transfer Window, joining other big signings in Emmanuel Idem, Jake O'Brien, Josh Davison, Louis Barry and Brandon Cooper.
Speaking on what was the final signing of Transfer Deadline Day, Swindon Town's Director of Football, Ben Chorley said: "We've monitored Joe's situation for a while.
"He comes to us off the back of Championship minutes at the weekend.
"He's a dynamic, two-footed player with excellent distrubution.
"Joe will add balance and competition for a massive second-half of the season for the club."
