It was a tough night for Town, who suffered a 3-1 defeat against promotion rivals Exeter City at St James Park in the EFL Sky Bet League Two.
Although Swindon Town started the game brightly, Exeter City's Jevani Brown thumped home a top-corner strike for the home side, who took the lead in the seventeenth minute.
After this, in the twenty-sixth minute, The Robins were unable to defend a Grecian corner, and Jonathan Grounds was able to slot the ball home from close range, doubling Exeter City's lead.
The Grecians all but sealed their victory in the eight-first minute, with Matt Jay finding the net from inside the box, following a well-worked attacking move from Exeter City.
Swindon Town was, however, able to take something positive from the game. Jack Payne thundered the ball home with an impressive long-distance strike in the ninety-third minute. Since recently returning from injury, Payne has appeared twice, and has scored two injury-time goals.
