Ben Garner sat down with the local press, and had his say on this Saturday's fixture versus Oldham Athletic.

"They’ve done really well in recent weeks, they lost last week to Carlisle, but prior to that they had a really good run, I think seven unbeaten," Garner said.

"They’ve put a system in place, they’ve been hard to beat, they’ve scored some good goals. You can see that they’re really fighting for each other and fighting for every point.

"Similar to the games recently against Scunthorpe and Carlisle, you know that teams in the position that they are in are going to fight tooth-and-nail for everything on the pitch and we’ve got our own desire for points and our own desire to win the game and we need to make sure that that is stronger than theirs.

"I don’t know John (Sheridan), I‘ve never met him and have never come across his teams before. Obviously, what has gone on here prior to me coming in, I have no awareness of.

"All I know is from day one when I walked in the building what I see and experience, so no, our focus is purely on the game, our performance, our attempt to win and get the three points, and that will be the case going into tomorrow."

The fans are planning a special display with scarves prior to tomorrow's game, and any extra atmosphere generated will only be of benefit to the players in Garner's opinion.

"Yeah, that would be great, like I say, any atmosphere that can be created and if the players come out and see that and then feel the energy from the supporters, that would be a massive help, probably tomorrow more than any game this season because we haven't got depth to rotate and freshen things up," added Garner.

"We’re very limited on our numbers. Players are going to have to dig deep and the supporters can play a massive part in that tomorrow."
